An observer with 48 Squadron who scored six victories in 1917, Bruce Stanley C. Jackman was the son of Alfred and Caroline (Stanley) Jackman. He served with the 2nd Battalion of the Sherwood Foresters before he transferred to the Royal Flying Corps. After the armistice, Sgt. Jackman received Royal Aero Club Aviator's Certificate 6454 on an Avro biplane at military school, Boscombe Downs, Amesbury on 30 November 1918.
