Osborne Orr sailed to England to join the Royal Air Force. He was promoted to temporary 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) on 10 March 1918 and posted to 204 Squadron on 1 August 1918. On the morning of 23 October 1918, his flight had just completed a bombing mission when it was engaged by enemy fighters near Termonde. In the battle that followed, Orr and four other Sopwith Camel pilots were killed in action. |
