Old Rhinebeck is a very special place. It's probably the last place in the United States where you can still count on being able to hear a rotary engine.

I took my parents there during the last season that Cole Palen was still living. It was Fathers Day, and so for Dad's "present" I sent him up in the 1929 New Standard for a ride with Mom over the Hudson Valley. (Although I must admit, I think Mom was more impressed.)

Several years later we discovered that our ancestors are from Kinderhook, just a "stones throw" away.
