Since my wife and I had not taken a week off together (without the boys) since the Ottawa 94 seminar, we went to San Diego last weekend for the seminar.

Jeanne had a touch of something on Monday and Tuesday, we woke to the nightmare. *Early on, I had a bad feeling that our seminar was lost and Howard Fisher called on Tuesday night with the news. *However, that was not as important as the real suffering experienced by the friends and families of 5,000+ other souls. *It was really difficult to really enjoy the week.

As luck would have it, I ended up being the sole attendee. * Howard was a most gracious host and Jean and I really are thankful for his hospitality. *He took me through the museum and we had dinner with him. *However, I would have far preferred that all 70+ participants were with us and even more importantly, the terrorist murders had never occurred.

I am a commercial insurance broker. *Industry estimates of the terrorist crimes will result in $500 milllion in life insurance losses and well over $15 Billion in Aviation, Property and Casualty insurance losses. *This will have long term ramifications on the insurance industry and the economy. *

As the Chinese saying reminds me, these are interesting times. *
