Hello,
Yes, I have heard it's a good one.
Cook just pulls you write in to where & what he was doing if you read the right info! OK, heres the reason I have not purchased a book yet. It's because I have the letters & photo's. Weir was known for carrying a camera everywhere. And he loved to trade w/ the other countries. The day of his plane crash he had undeveloped film. And in these letters it tells the tell. I have several from Rickenbacker. And probably other famous ones. I'm not sure cause I don't know all the guys. And sometimes when you read, well they have you to believe their right. Like this one letter talks to a man about the financing of the cabin chute. He tells who thought it was a crazy idea & more.
You know what would be neat to find?
Well he was good friends w/Amelia Earheart. And it would be neat to find the last letter from her or to her! Especially since their is such a mystery around her flight.
Or in a book of photos I have a book of very early photos of planes. One looks close to maybe the first. I only say because it looks very funny. And he was buddies w/ the wright brothers & helped them alot. I'm going to post it in the model threads to find someone to translate for me or just tell me what I'm looking at. You have to remember I am helping his family know what their seeing to.
What about financing??I'm not forsure what your ps. means? Wait I know now!!!!!!! Yes, I will. Now now no profiling.
Thank you !
And yes I won't give up!

Dear JC,
Would you like to read Cook's record? Then please refer to the appendix in Rickenbacker's FIGHTING THE FLYING CIRCUS, where the exploits of Cook are there, confirmed, dates and places and times, for all to see...
I know that this book has come under attack for being ghostwritten, and that some forumites doubt some of Rickenbacker's claims... well, here is the record, and, at my last perusal of Webster's, confirmed meant just that, CONFIRMED.
I believe that Cook IS mentioned by name in this book: Rick talks of some pilots being specialists in balloon-busting-- I'll find the passage and get back to it...
Why not purchase this edition? It's a reproduction of the original, from photographic plates, and it's available from Edward Hamilton Booksellers (check EDWARDHAMILTON.com), and it's only about $6... It really is a MAGNIFICENT edition!
Why not do what I do, and, for inspiration, read Rickenbacker's autobiography? Works for me...
And JC, don't ever, ever give up-- the more I read about Cook, the Balloon Buster of the 94th, the more I come to admire this man and patriot...
VBR,
Captain "Chips" Lewis
PS Why not check into who financed the campaigns of some of those "less enthusiastic" politicians-- any money from any Islamic groups? Oh, may God help me, I'm "profiling"!
PPS Er, sorry... make that "May Allah, the Compassionate, help me."
