Correctionist or Revisionist, there is a hefty contingent that prefers that "what is written" not be questioned in any way, shape, or form. I'm all for putting a finer point on this, as there are certainly scoundrels who are "revisionist", just as there are scoundrels who wrote the "official" versions.
What it comes down to, is that while the events occurred as they did, and haven't changed since(duh), our understanding of them does change. And new information comes to light now and then, whether it is in the form of documentation or the realization that so-and-so wrote the Official History with a slant in the first place.
