Dr.I's certainly had "blue bellies" they just weren't torquoise is what I think Achim is saying. Recently I inspected one of the under-wing crosses from MvR's 425/17 held by the Australian War Memorial, under the red paint you can still see the blue underside colour. With time it has turned into a dull blue grey.
