I think I might be able to help you out.
I have a font that was specificaly designed to match the albatros serial numbers.
as i recall it just had numbers.
was made up by a guy on the WW1 mailing list and I'm afraid I can't remeber his name offhand.
But, I'm sure he wouldn't mind if I shared it with you
