As far as I can see, the first victory in a single-seater v single-seater combat was on 14 December 1915 when Guynemer and Bucquet (Escadrille N3) claimed a Fokker Eindekker south-east of Noyon.
The first British claim appears to be that by Sgt T P H Bayetto of No 3 Sqn RFC on 5 January 1916. He is credited with having forced a Fokker to land near Douai.
I'm not so sure about the first German claim but this might be the first of Immelmann's victories on 13 March 1916 when he shot down Maj Barrington-Kennet of No 4 Sqn (B-K was in Bristol 4678).
