Hello!

Another (maybe stupid) question:

Air cooled rotary engines and water cooled inline engines were the most commonly used engines during WW1.

But how many aircraft used other engine designs (the liquid cooled radial engine (Sternmotor) used in the Salmson 2 bomber for example)? How many other aircraft had radial engines as mainly used engines?

Can somebody inform me about other, maybe unusual types of engines as well as the aircraft equipped with these engines?
