First Sorry for my poor english.
This movie ( my opinion ) is one of the best on WWI environnement that I know, ( With "Capitaine Conan" ).
First, it was filmed by one of the best french directors, Jean pierre Jeunet (he was director for "ALIEN 4").
Jean Pierre Jeunet takes has WWI specialist to assist him, Jean¨Pierre Verney who is THE REFERENCE regarding WWI.
All troops, and "poilus" are reconstitution groups of WWI enthusiasts, also, uniforms, riffles, guns,tanks, accessories are authentics. At this point a nice "WWI reconstitution"
Of course, it is a "romantic movie" issued from a book, but all WWI battles sequences are very sophisticated, mainly based on well know WWI photos, as the dead horse in a tree, blinded soldiers following a "guide" hands on shoulders, Assault start from trenches, the picture of troopers in front of the cementary. etc.... " thank you Mr Verney".....
The alone error is that the Albatros two seaters, is a Stearman
You must go to show it, with your wife, both will find interest to this movie
