Epoxy paste/putty.
My first experience with shaping 2 part epoxy was for correcting mistakes or building up areas to be recarved on my birds of prey sculptures.Because I was painting over these areas I could get away with it and it didnt show(dont worry we all did it)So I have some experience using this material.
It is a 5 minute exopy paste called A+B made by Hexcel of Chatsworth CA 91311.Problem is the last I heard they stopped making it.I will ask my bird carver friends what they are now using. The great thing about A+B is that you can overbuild it in 5 min stages and then let it dry for 24Hrs and it carves sands and shapes just like wood .You can even use power tools as it will not melt and clog up your bits. All around a great product, of which unfortunately, I only have one tube in reserve.Dont know what I will do when I run out. It may be worthwhile calling Hexcel as they may be back in production.
A friend of mine brought me back from a bird carving show a couple of years ago, a product called A+B made by the H.B. Fuller company.I have not used any yet so I am not familiar with it. It does say epoxy putty and not paste on the box but may be they may make a paste too.Their address is in St. Paul MN 55126-8076.Hope this helps.Cheers ! John.
