Actually, to my certain knowledge, World War 1 was filmed entirely in the same studios which NASA later used to fake the moon landings.
The same guy who would do that wonderful work on JFK in Dallas did the makeup work. (Can't remember the name, the credits at the end were, after all, millions of names long. regards Darryl
