Hello gentlemen,I was recently on the phone with
my grandfather and I asked him if any world war 1
fighter pilots were still around. My grandfather
told me the aces name and where he lived. His name
is Evert (I am leaving out the last name) he lives in Nova Scotia.I spoke to the ace and I told
him about the aerodrome. He asked that i not give
out his last name because he didn't want anyone
"interferring" with what might be his last days.
I am not sure of his age,but if my memory surves me right,i think he is atleast 100.I am not posotive on the age.I when I go and chat with him
later on this summer about his days in ww1 (Will
be recorded on tape maybe) and if you have any questions pleas tell me them now and i will ask them while i am there speaking with him.I will
post the conversation's words here in the aerodrome when i am get back from talking with him.

We could ask better questions if we knew something of his career. What did he fly and when? Tell us what squadron was he with and we'll know what part of the front he was on. Then we'll have plenty of questions.

Here's a question for YOU Dan, is he on any of the lists of Aces? In other words, is it confirmed that he IS an ace???

Just curious,

VBR,

Ditto Al's question. Is the gent listed in Above the Trenches? (Less important: did he get five DESTROYED?)

Well,he is not in the Aerodrome.I love this site
but I can't believe it has every 5 kill ace of the
war. That's kinda hard to believe. My grandfather said he flew S.E.5a's....but he wasen't sure on
that.

Dan,
Just tell the guy that I send my thanks for his courage when he went aloft to fight. Tell him that I carry on the tradition of service, because I'm trying to pay back the debt that's owed to gent's like him.
VBR,
Jim
