Fellow Allied Ace Fans,
I am writing this to let all have some words of wisdom to carry into the New Year with them. I got a copy of Breaker Morant's last poem he ever wrote and I took the liberty of changing a few words but the poem fits what's happened. My apologies to the memory of the Breaker. In the poem a "Dutchman" is referring to any IGAF pilot.

CENSORED TO MAKE A DUTCHMAN'S HOLIDAY

On this ship I sadly sit-
A d___d crestfallen chappy!
And own to you I feel a bit-
A little bit unhappy!

It really ain't the place nor time
To reel off rhyming diction;
But yet we'll write a final rhyme
While waiting cru-ci-fixion!

No matter what "end" they decide-
Quick-lime? or "b'iling ile?" sir!
We'll do our best when crucified
To finish off in style, sir!

But we bequeath a parting tip
For sound advice of such men
Who come across in cyber threads
To polish off the Dutchmen!

If you encounter any foe
Your replies must not loot 'em,
And if you word your threads just so
for pity's sake DON'T SHOOT 'EM!!

And once you find that this is so
Then every Forum sinner
Should know the proper way to go
Is: ASK THE HUN TO DINNER!

Let's toss a bumper down our throat
'fore we pass from this quorum,
And toast: The worthy mates of note
We leave here on the Forum.

He-he JUST WHEN YOU THOUGHT I'D DISSAPPEARED FOR GOOD!!
VBR,
Jim

A Dutchmans Ditty

They fell from the air
As nice as you please.
Brought down by the Germans
All holed like Swiss cheese
There was Mannock and Hawker
Please don't forget Ball!
The black Balkan Cross
Was the last thing they saw.

To be sung lustly to the tune of , "The man in the flying trapeze".

Balkenkreutz,

An Allied Victor's Reply

The German's had good pilots,
Their best one's plane was red.
But like so many of their pilots,
THE FLAMIN' B___ARD'S DEAD!!!

No one made the choice for you,
You Sir, are the chooser.
But can't be helped if what you chose,
TURNED OUT TO BE THE LOSER!!!!

Later Dude,
Jim

Jim you are obviously not much of a poet nor must I confess am I. I showed our work to a friend who has some literary pretensions. He suggested we both keep our day jobs. Happy New Year und Gluck auf!

yours in poetry and rhyme
