Mark: The best advice I can give you is to try to find a copy of the movie "The Kid Who Couldn't Miss". That is pretty much where the whole thing started.

That will give you the perspective of the Director/producer, Paul Cowan of the National Film Board of Canada. As to who started the stupid, outlandish, IMPOSSIBLE story of Bishop landing and shooting his own aircraft, I haven't the slightest idea. But I suspect it's an idea that Cowan dreamed up himself.

I could try and type what I know, but right now, it would fill a book. And I don't know all of it yet. If you're in the USA, and want to talk on the phone, email me. I'm more than willing to talk about it.

This offer goes to anyone by the way, so if ANYONE would prefer to chat on the phone, drop me an email. And we'll figure out a time and day that works for both of us.

VBR,

Al Lowe

For more info on Cobby there is a bio on him at:

http://members.xoom.com/PointCook/afca00_cobby.htm

an article on him at :

http://members.xoom.com/PointCook/afc_ar02.htm

and a squadron history of 4 AFC at :

http://members.xoom.com/PointCook/afc4.htm

The Camel that is depicted as his is marked as B2404 , it should be B2424. Small error but needs to be fixed.
