I think you'd better check your definition for libel. I'd take you task for the absurdity of that comment but I don't want the LOL (legion of Lowe) to say that I'm abusing you.

If mankind were to leave unchallenged everything that had previously been accepted to be fact, the sun would still be revolving around the earth, the earth would still be flat, we certainly wouldn't have accomplished what we have today. Man is inquisitive by nature.

When something smells like six day old fish laying on a pier in 108 degree weather, (Like Bishop's VC combat report for example) shouldn't someone investigate and see where the smell is coming from?

If we've accomplished anything with our discourse over the past three weeks, hopefully it will have been to encourage people to read more for themselves and draw their own conclusions! And with that I'm finished! I've made you to famous on the Forum already (kidding).

For my part, I'll do what I can to see that the Markham article is available to the Forum so that things are a little more even handed. Fair enough?

Regarding Libel: That is going by the Canadian definition, which apparently included defamation. This is one of the items discussed in Canadian sub-committee hearings. And fortunately for Cowan, the person he defamed is dead, otherwise he likely would have been sued.

Regarding 6-day old fish: Some of the "meticulous" German records, so-called, smell much worse.

Regarding my fame: I'm sorry to tell you I was already (in)famous around here before you came along. Just ask Barrett Tillman, or Scott Hamilton, or any number of others who have been here for a while.

Barrett has told me the one thing he finds consistent is my defence of Bishop. I don't want to disappoint him.
