OK, enough sideline lurking.
I'm a 40-something white collar professional who flew military & civilian for about 15 years. Grew up in aviation, collected classic comic books, (remember "Blackhawk"?) and had some fun in the USAF with one foot in the F-15 community (long story short: FACs need not apply) before I got out. Former callsign: "Grinch." Marital status: still looking. Favorite movie: "Stairway to Heaven" with David Niven. Pet peeves: people who've never been to combat who say they've been to combat. Aircraft I regret I never flew: D-VIIs, P-38s, and 747s (that hump is so the pilot can sit on his wallet). Unsolicited advice: Mary, dump that bum. Favorite web site: you're looking at it. Just wish I had more time.

Despite tons of air miles, I have NEVER flown on a 747...but I have ALWAYS wondered why it had that tumorous hump-back.

Many thanks, sir!

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

my name is Hannes Täger but I use the obsolete form Taeger because it is easier to handle in the Internet. I was born in Dresden and I am living again in this town since some years. I studied economy and taught at the university in Freiberg.
Today I am an enterprise adviser and infobroker.
Next January I will celebrate my 40th birthday.

I was 9 years old when I bought my first aviation magazin with a series called "The Sky is burning" dealing with WWII air war history. This part of aviation history is still my main topic but I enjoy also the discussion about WW I aircraft and heroes. Just now I decided to deal a little bit more serious with this hobby and stepped in an association for the research of Saxon military history.

I like the Aerodrome very much but I guess I have to reduce my engagement - the extremly expensive German telephon (cable) monopolist is still a barriere for worldwide communication.

With best regards
Hannes

Mukund, I see where you are coming from saying the Hunter is a beautiful aircraft. Sure. But are you MAD?? Better than the Spit? I must respectfully differ! PRXIX is unbeatable.

Also what a great degree! I did a lot of ancient history + some archaeology and really liked it.

Paul, Good taste! Unsolicited advice: Check out the Manic Street Preachers' latest
