Ok, lets be fair. It's the First World War, and you are in Germany. What plane or planes would you want to fly and with what Jasta.
As for myself, I would have liked to have been in Boelcke's Jasta 2, flying a Albatros D-2, and have Ltn. Manfred von Richthofen as my roommate.

Agreed all the way, Jeni. My pick, too. And try to find a way to keep Boelcke safe on October 28th. Can you imagine what Oswald would have done during Bloody April had he survived that accident?

To all,
My pick would be Boelke or Voss, both better than Richthofen.

Well, I guess I can't choose to fly Albatrii with Jeni in Jasta Studmuffin so I'll have to look elsewhere, to wit:
D-VIIs with Saschenberg in the Marine Flanders Jagdgeschwader. They ran up good scores with minimal casualties, and I like the idea of being a marine aviator (note: separate and distinct from the Imperial Naval Air Service!) Can't find anything generic on the Kaiser's Marine Korps, but presumably those folks were the original Teufelhunden.
Besides, Marine Jasta VI is the venue of 1/3 of the forthcoming epic saga, "Duel Over Douai."

Barrett,
Your wit strikes home again. Jasta studmuffin could I possibly reference to this moniker a time or two?
BTW you can't fly an airplane with Ursula's towel wrapped around your eye's! Ha-Ha.

Jim

I think I would pick Jasta 2 with Boelcke also. I don't think Jeni, that it would be a good idea for you to room with von Richthofen. Boelcke would surely get suspicious when you start throwing up over the side of the cockit every morning!

I think I would like to be mates with Boelke and Immelman and fly patrols in the Fokker E-1. No in depth military analysis for this, just a particular area of interest. By the way Jeni keep having fun with the subject of The Great War. Rememberance is what will keep it alive.

Jeni,
You know if you were Manfred's roomate the other pilots would get jealous and want to share the room also.
And what Jasta would I fly with well...duh. Take a guess. I was happy with the all the guys I flew with. I would just make sure that they didn't get killed.

Jim Ace;
Is there glory in war? Yes there is, but there are many other things not as good. I have found that combat ampilfys the basic character of a person. If he or she, is a person of integrity, that integrity will glow and grow in combat. On the other hand if a person is base, cruel, and a blow hard, that to will be ampilfied.
I see from what you've said about yourself that you have a lot of experence as a ordnanceman on carriers. Then I take it you have never fired a shot in combat or been shot at. What you know is from what you've read, or what you have been told by others. So before you pan Jeni and others of their ignorance or naivete', look to yourself.
