Sorry about the title but I'am a cheerleader. On November 23rd it will be 82 years ago the Manfred von Richthofen shot down Lanoe Hawker. This was MvR's most famous victory, and one of the classic air battles of WW1.
I will have to think of a why to honor both of these brave men on Monday. If anyone has any ideas please let me know.

Have the pizza, the bitters and go one step further as some of my friends from flight school did... have a "Red Baron" party. On May 2nd 1996, we all got together and served red drinks, decorated the room in red and watched the movie "The blue Max" of course the evening ended in gales of raucous laughter. Lothar would have been right at home.

Please no Pizza. I don't think a pizza ever had the great fortune of going down MVR's digestive track.

How about some bully beef (corned beef) and a good schnaps, or some bratwurst and a Guinnes?

Better yet, give the pizza, but not the beer, or better yet, a blanket to a homeless person. Failing that help a family who's lost a member in the armed forces, like always the govt. fails to live up to it's side of the bargain. Honour the pilots who died for a free society by doing something for society, and those who made the sacrifices. Put some meaning into the word "honour"!

I think I'll have to pass on the pizza and beer. I don't like the way the pizza company has dishonored MvR, and I'am too young to drink beer. I guess a liverworst sandwich and a root beer will have to do.

Jeni,
American beer is not worth washing your car with. You are not missing anything. Either wait here or go to Germany and get something civilized to drink like Spaten, dark. I hate beer, but Spaten dark has the potential to change my mind. A good glass of wine will taste much sweeter.
