What happened to Udet Aircraft company? Did it last until WWII or did it just go bankrupt? How many planes did it make? What about Ernst's films? Did he have any starring roles, or was he just a stuntman? How many films did he make in the U.S.? I heard he picked up a hankerchief from a limo with his plane, and the Hollywood agent let him have it.

Udet left the "Udet Flugzeugbau" in 1924 because he had a differnet opinion than Heinz Pohl, the business director of the company. During this period, the planned on building the "Flamingo" which became a very famous training plane in the 20's and early 30's in Germany. The company had grown too big for Udet and plans to built a 4-mot plane he'd been sceptic of. He started a show flight program again after 1919 (then he show-flew WWI machines like the Albatros D.V together with Robert Greim (ex-leader of the bavarian Jasta34)) with his close friend, Walter Angermund."Udet Flugzeugbau" went bankrupt on 24. August 1926.Then a new company was founded, the "Bayrische Flugzeugwerke", short "BFW", in which the "Udet Flugzeugbau" were inserted. It broght in the "Flamingo" which was built now in Augsburg. "Udet Flugzeugbau" built 13 different types of aircraft (U1-U13).In the three films he made all the flying footage, he was pilot for the filming but didn't starred as an actor. The trick with sharpening one wing of the plane to the floor was his special trick, he performed it on nearly every flightshow. Added some pics for enjoying. First shows one of Udet's drawings he did, it's new years eve 1933 greets, second his wingtrick and third him in a Flamingo pulling the winch for the ad transparent behind the plane. Greets,Chris

e-Gads, have we solved the mystery of the flying pig with Udet's drawing? I thought that was Billy Bishop's baby?
