For what its worth, I heard that the Elton John title 'Someone Saved my Life tonight' was inspired by the published diaries of one of the Tiger Squadron.

I've got "King of Air Fighters", Jones' biography/hagiography of Mick Mannock. Published c.1936 and bought for £1.50 (bargain!)in an Edinburgh book shop last year. It is a good read, and although it is utterly biased, Jones includes a lot of straight quotes from Mick's correspondance and diary. It also gives you a picture of what operations the squadron was involved in and what it felt like to fly them. The edition I have also has lots of pictures of the squadron personnel mentioned in the text.
Hope this is helpful,
Vigilant.
