The final demise of the Red baron has,and will continue, to provoke controversy. But there is an equally fine aviator who met death in mysterious circumstances.....So the question is...Who REALLY killed Cock Robin?
Now populist belief has always maintained that it was the Sparrow with his bow and arrow, and the somewhat hurried initial post mortem seemed to confirm this. Mainly because there was a metal pointy bit sticking out of his back and a feathery thingy sticking out of the front.
Fairly straight forward you might think...But, a recent book throws new doubts on this.
The book, "Who Killed the Red-Breasted Baron" by the esteemed historian, Professor R. E Braindead, Emeritus Professor at the London Institute for the Terminally Stupid states: "I have collected many eye witness reports of the incident in question, and I now believe that at the time of death, Squadron Leader Cock Robin was actually flying inverted, halfway through an Immelmann turn, when he was hit by a crossbow bolt fired by a Canada Goose diving out of the sun"
Provocative stuff eh!!... If anyone has any information, (photo's, memorabilia, etc.) that might help confirm this, please contact me at:

You would be helping me complete my thesis on "Why WWI aviation buffs are all slightly nuts!!"
Thanking you in anticipation.
