Are any of you WW1 AEROPHILES planning on going to the Dayton, Ohio WW1 flyin at Wright-Patterson AFB , USAF Museum. The last weekend of September? Should be 25-40 aeroplanes there flying and Reenactors in uniform and WW1 Militaria Flea market.

I'd love to, but circumstances beyond my total control will prohibit my attendance.

Will they be doing this again next year???

No it will not happen next year,as the original idea was to make this a biannual event. But they have a new director at the museum and he seems to think the flyin not worth the trouble. So whether it ever happens again depends on how things go this year. There will be smaller events in St.Louis Mo. and Gardener (Kansas City) Ks. next year.
Sorry you can't make it, should be a GREAT time.

I have to work that weekend so I can't go, but it would be a shame if they ended it. So far as the new director goes, it would be a double disgrace if the museum refused to cooperate. WWI needs more emphasis, not less. A whole generation of school kids don't even know it happened... and don't seem to know much else either, come to think of it.

DAMN!! That would be a real shame if they didn't have it again. It would be worth waiting two years IF they did it again. Well, I'll have to see what I can do, but I kinda doubt I can do much. Most of my meager resources were going into a research trip to Canada the middle of next month. Well, I guess I'll see what happens.
