A few days ago I spotted someone who was interested in Julius Bucklers autobiography of his wartime career. Today I typed in his name on the computer in the library of my university. Et voila! There it was. A 1939 version of the book in German. I also found a 1933 version in German of "Der Rote Kampfflieger" as well as a photobook by Udet detailing an expedition into Africa which he accompanied.
I don't remember the name of the person who asked about Buckler but he/she can contact me through the forum. I cannot do much with it, being a librarybook of course, but if there's specific info required, let me know and I'll keep an eye out for it.

Kind regards,

Reinout

I do not know, I consider myself lucky to have found A version of Malaula!
Though I admit that I left Guynemers biography from 1920 in the library because it is in French.
Looks like a German-course for you!
But seriously. I can read German well enough (writing/speaking is an entirely different matter) and if there's specific info you need, I can give you an English account of it.

Kind Regards,

Reinout

Do you want to know, what "malaula" means? Buckler one shot down a French pilot. The French had named his machine "Ma Lola" (My Lola) but had pronounced it like "malaula".

It is really sad that so few people can speak German - e.g. Buckler writes very honorable about his foes and enemys...
