I have heard somewhre that a man by the name of Al Lowe is trying to ROB Bishop of his kills and say he didn't get as much as he claimed...i personally think Bishop got every kill he claimed...and If this is true about Al Lowe,he should be kicked out of Canada and have his citzenship taken away

Dan, are you dyslexic?? I mean really, ME?? Trying to ROB Bishop of his VICTORIES??? (Let's get the terminology straight first).

If you think that, then you should go to my Billy Bishop page at
http://www.billybishop.net/bishop.html

And then get back to me. Besides, I'm a US citizen, not Canadian. I'm only an "honourary Canadian" by virtue of the Canadian BB on delphi forums. They figured I deserved it since I knew more about a Canadian hero than they did.

Best Regards,

Al Lowe 'Honourary Canadian Citizen'

Al,

ALLRIGHT, now we got somebody with FIRE on our side. Like your spirit, Dan, but there's no more staunch Bishop supporter than Al (at least in the greater Chicago area...). There's plenty of testimony to that just beyond the "view previous 25" button.

What was the source of your [mis]information? Maybe somebody is having fun with you. But now that you're here, welcome; Bishop flew alone, but his reputation could always use another wingman.

I remain,
RK

Hee! Good one, Dan! Always helps to run one up the ol' flagpole from time to time and see who salutes it...

Hey Dan, you troublemaker. I've seen you around here before, so don't be trying to pretend you didn't know my buddy Al has been covering my six. I compared e-mail addresses, Mr. Dan Feltmate or Flemtate or whatever you call yourself, and you may be able to fool a feeb like Kowalchuk, but not me.

You all seem pretty cocky judging me, thinking yourselves big men because you can operate a clickety-click keyboard instead of a flight stick and an overhead Lewis gun.

On the edge of destiny, you must test your strength.

Billy Bishop

P.S. If you were wondering, I kicked Taffy Jones' ass.

Wow! A rebuttal from the grave! You saw it here first, folks, at theaerodrome.com.

It's a good thing he came along when he did, because Dan had me fooled completely. Hey, what did he mean by "feeb?" I hope it's something good.

Although I would like to see a few more witnesses as to old billy's kills And can not accept his tally with out them I would never mistake Al as shareing the same viewpoint as me and would gladdly change my own if presented with reasionable facts. ( MvR was killed by an Aussie by the way) and so Dan I leave you with an old US army proverb "engage brain before operateing mouth"

Boy, Phill, can you kill a party. This is a fun thread, like a cocktail party. You don't seem to be a social drinker.

As to your desire of seeing a few more witnesses to Bishop's victories -- you can't. They're all dead now, so take what you can get. Perhaps he should have brought along a photographer, or mounted an overwing recon camera, just for the benefit of skeptics 80 years later.

But since Phill has brought his briefcase to the party, and I've spilled my drink, let's get into it. How many lone wolf pilots had dubious scores? (Ball?) How often were the confirmations of victories provided by a pilot's wingman? I know Barker had some of his kills confirmed by men in his squadron.

And since you seemed to have arrived at the party late, the joke to the punchline was that Dan was being a sh*tdisturber. And all *opinions* being equal, I think that MvR was shot by Wop May, who, though I don't have proof, had a rear mounted Vickers.

Cheers to all!

" And all *opinions* being equal, I think that MvR was shot by Wop May, who, though I don't have proof, had a rear mounted Vickers."

Actually, I think that he was tired of the war, depressed about dead friends, just found out his mistress was pregnant, which totally pissed off his Gay lover. Seeing no way out, he shot him self whilst chasing the Camel.

Mind you, this is only speculation and rumour, but I think the NFB of Germany should make a film about it.

Best Regards,

Al Lowe 'Honourary Canadian'

Personally, with my opinion....i think you are wrong about Wop....didn't the bullet come from below???? and that evidence would have to be stated.I know if i was chasing a Camel with a rear mounted Vickers Or Lewis i would jam hard right and get the hell outta there
