V. Richthofen,
Hey kid! Guess what?! HE STILL DIED AND THE GERMANS LOST THE WAR! So what's your point?!
As a very successful American General once said "You don't win a war by dying for your country, you win it by making the other poor dumb bast-rd die for his country." - George S. Patton, Gen. USA
Another American General said "Get there fustest with the mostest" - Nathan Bedford Forrest Gen, CSA
You can have all the quality you want, but if you don't have the quantity to sustain your offensives, OOOPPPSSS ... you lose.
I think MvR was a brave pilot but he was fighting for the wrong cause! I more admire the Allied pilots who fought for freedom! Just as I still serve for those same freedoms.
Regards,
Jim

CAPS LOCK! CAPS LOCK!
The constant use of upper case letters is the equivalent of shouting, and is considered crude, vulgar, and gauche by the majority of internet users, but I doubt if V. Richthofen is aware of that fact.
Arschgesicht!

We have this kind of problem locally. Kids go to the public library where there is no supervision. When called on this problem, the lady in charge of our county library said that she is not their parent. I think we should form a lobby requesting library supervisors all over the country to act responsibly when "in loco parentis."

John,
More likely she was afraid of a law suit.

Mike, for a moment I forgot that we are now living in the Great Age of Exoneration and Student Threats against Authority Figures. Somehow, I liked the old way better.

Ironic considering that several planes Richthofen claimed as victories were not shot down at all. His brother Loathsome Lothar was even worse, hanging around outside the melee until some damaged Allied pilot tried to retreat, then pouncing on the disabled bus for an easy kill.
Gloat about that, Herr Rittmeister.

In stunning contrast, "Time" has chosen their "Person of the Century". While my personal choice would have been Churchill, I can't argue with the reasoning behind the actual choice.
