Some time back in November, somebody referred to a Karl Otto Titzlinger as having shot down 2 aircraft on 13 – 14 November 1918. Does anyone know anything about

(a) Karl Otto Titzlinger; and
(B) The events of 14 – 14 November 1918

or was this a joke ?

Vin, Karl Otto has himself been a frequent contributor to the Forum. The most recent thread of his I can find of his in the archive is his submission on Emil Tinkle back in September. I hope he is not unwell. Has anyone heared from him?

Can you enlighten us all on the events of 13/14 November ? If my memory serves me correctly, it was your good self who raised the issue back in November.

Vin, in the city of Dzerkov, Titzlingers home town, November 11th is St Donnersgaad day. This has much the same significance as does April 1st elswhere and it was two days befor Karl Otto could be persuaded that the armistice was not just an elaborate hoax.

hope this helps

It does help although, in practical terms, he must have wondered at the lack of other fighting etc. Remarkable story. I imagine that the families of the 2 unfortunates he shot down wished he was less skeptical.

Thanks

Vin
