Doing autobiography on French WW1 Ace, Charles Eugene Jules Marie Nungesser. Searching for information on personal life as opposed to military life. Especially interested in insignia he had on all his planes and/or if he was a Freemason. Any and all replys appreciated.

Joe,

Which medium are you using for this autobiography? And do you have the earlier biography, in French, by Mortane, I think?

Frank.

I'm a french model maker and a former cavalry officer at the 2nd husars (where Nungesser began WWI as a private before his assignment in airforce).

To find informations on Nungesser private life, you may contact the "musée de l'air et de l'espace" : www.mae.org
and the "musée de l'armée" in Paris: www.invalides.org

I'm desperatly looking for colour pictures of two of Nungesser's medals: these are the two at the bottom of the photo of him you can see clicking on "aces". They have "austrian type" ribbons. The first one looks a little like a German Iron Cross, the second is a simple disk.
They have been both identified by a militaria collector, friend of mine, as Montenegro orders:
One should be the "Danilo 1st order", the other the "medal for bravery".
I only have black & white pictures of these and need colour ones or indications of their colours.

Thank you for any clue you may give to me.
