There indeed exist a book about Lothar Fhr von Richthofen published in Hamburg 1938 with 82 pages. The author is Oscar Schweckendieck.

The name of the book is "Der Kampfflieger L.v.R" so you must understand German to read it..!

You can probably buy this book from one of the Antique book stores who sells "old" German military books.

I have read it but did not make copies of it. And have also met Lothars son who has been living in Sweden for many Years.

Tony:

In Peter Kilduff's GERMANY'S FIRST AIR FORCE 1914-1918 (Arms & Armour, 1991) there is a 16-page chapter on LvR titled "The Other Red Baron."

That chapter alone is worth the cost of the book!

Greetings, Tony: If you wrote to Suzanne Hayes Fiischer, 5002 Audrey Circle, #203, Indianapolis, IN 46254, you might geet ssomething about Lothar. Suzanne is an editor for the Over the Front journal. Several years ago she visited me and showed me a closeup picture oy Lothar with his jaws wired, after one of his crashes. She said that she was going to write a book about LvR. If nnot she may have some data you can use. Are you writing a book on him? RSVP, Billy H/11/17/99.
