I have a note that in early 1916 the Austrian-Hungarian Major Deutelmoser was planning to visit the Aviation Replacement Unit in Großenhain. He was called leader of the AH Fliegerkorps there. Who is able to tell me more about this person and his function?

The DFW company founded a daughter 1914 (?) in AH - the "Ungarische Loyd Flugzeug und Motorenfabrik Gesellschaft". Who can give me more info about this enterprise (existence from to, produced number and types of aircraft, location and so on)?

Thanks.

Hannes

Deutelmoser, Ferdinand finished the war as Leutnantoberst on Uzelac's staff as a technical advisor. The LLyod warks was founded as a subsidiary of of DFW in Hungary on 17 April 1914. The plant opened in Aszod on 8 May 1914 with the intention of building the DFW MD 14. Production was slow and only 279 planes were delivered through September 1918.

One of Uzelac's engineers was very critical of the management. He did creit them with develoopment of nrw aircraft designs. At some time in their history they used reform school attendees in the work force. They existed after the war and Aviatik D1 and Phonix C1's were supplied to Hungarian Forces.
