First of all, it's nice to see that the atmosphere of the Forum has improved.

I've seen RFC Combat Reports for sale on the Internet from pilots such as Albert Ball. I was wondering how these reports came to be sold to the public? Are they truly originals or copies?

Thanks.

Amy

Apparently a lot were stolen from the PRO in the 1970s/1980s. Perhaps you should inform them of who's selling them?!

Hi Amy: Have you view the copies of examples of combat reports available on this site? Ie.You perhaps have, but for other readers the drill is: Go to "Aces" then "Combats In The Air" (An oddity here in that the heading for what appears to be the Commonwealth Aces is titled "Aces of India" (?). Albert Balls report of 29 May 1916 is reproduced here. Another great feature of a great site. Thanks to those responsible. VBR, Lee

Hi Amy,
I would suppose you are talking about the ones for sale from Liesure Galleries which are almost all listed as "sold".
Vig-I was told that after a three year period I had no legal right to the guns that were stolen from me. Ain't the law just grand!

Amy, regarding your comment about the peaceful environment hereabouts compared to a month ago:

Take a bucket and fill it with water,
Put your hand in it, up to the wrist,
Pull it out, and the hole that's remaining,
Is a measure of how you'll be missed.

You may splash all you please when you enter,
You can stir up the water galore,
But stop and you'll find in a minute,
That it looks quite the same as before.

The RFC Combat Reports were being sold at http://www.leisuregalleries.com/combatr.html but apparently pretty much all of them have been sold now. Interestingly, I haven't seen them being sold anywhere else so I don't know how Leisure Galleries came into so many of them.

FYI Amy. Buchanan Art has quite a few listed for sale at: http://www.buchanan-art.com/combatreport.htm I personally would like the Voss Dr1 (disposal) report with the fabric swatches. Just in case you were wondering what to get me for Christmas
