I'm seeking info on the May 4th dogfight in which  Karl Patzelt, & Franz Fritsch were killed & Andreas Dombrowski was wounded. What I want to know is who shot Fritsch down & who did Dombrowski get before Apps got him?Keith, |

According to my notes, Fritsch, Patzelt and Dombrowski were shot down KIA by camels of 66 Squadron, pilots Birks and Apps. But the victories over Patzelt and Fritsch were also assigned to serg. Giovanni Nicelli of 79a squadriglia. For Italian records Nicelli was alone, and claimed 2 fighters out of a formation. Red Cross report specifically attributes the demise of Korp. Franz Fritsch to Nicelli. Domborwski was shot down by Apps. Unfortunately I have only seconday sources, i don't have notes from the 79a Sq. war diary. Domberowski is credited with a Camel but I don't have knowledge of RAF losses.
