Forumites, et al:

After eighteen hours of constant battle, we have prevailed against the nefarious hurricane FLOYD.

Casualties were "light", but losses of equipment and plant-account property were high.

President Clinton has proposed that all residents of Coastal Carolina be awarded the Purple Heart medal for the beating we took at the hands of FLOYD (TIC).

Seriously, gang, I am happy--and thankful--to still be here. A CAT-4 hurricane would have ripped Jacksonville a new @#$%! I don't EVEN wanna talk about a CAT-5!!!!!

Anyone who wants to kneel a prayer or light a candle has my gratitude in advance.

Semper Fi!

Hi Shooter,

Can't help you with a prayer or candle (not my area) but glad to hear you are still in one piece.
Cyclone season here got pretty wild this year (I'm too far south fortunately)so there are plenty who do know what you have been through.

good luck with the cleanup

Darryl

Hurrah for the next that dies!

Shooter,

The closest I ever came to a hurricane was on a tv-documentary and on the news. It looked pretty scary to me so congratulations on your deliverance!

Hope the cleaning up doesn't keep you from posting.

Kind regards,

Reinout

Ya know, they used to call all of 'em by female names, til some buncha feminist kooks got it changed.

I now propose that in order to maintain balance and fairness to all genders, that we all stop saying "I gotta go to the John," and begin saying, "I'm on the Betty."

Makes sense to me.

Shooter

That's not the Purple Heart you're getting from Clinton, it's the Purple Shaft. Those who have been through it more than once will also receive the Barbed Wire Cluster.

Anyway, I'm glad you came through O.K.

All The Way

Lets hope that is as close as you come to a hurricane . Floyd hit us about 110-115 miles per hour . If he had still been a cat-5 or 4 jacksonville NC would have been the newest island resort . Thanks for the good words .
