After an extended leave in Vienna (My computer was on the Fritz) I am prepared to take up the job as Oberfeldwebel in the KuK LFT. I would hope to attract our old comrades and new recruits into the
increasingly difficult job of holding the empire together. Please contact me with any ideas and or suggestions. Our Alb DIII, series 253, are on the flight line and ready to go. The enemy approaches. Who will meet the foe for Kaiser und Vaterland.

Oberfeldwebel fur Rekrutierung
S W E E N E Y, Leo
Fliegerkompanie 41 jagd
Hauptmann Godwin Brumowski
Kaiserliche und Konigliche Luftfahrttruppen

No way. The empire is doomed and, I am sorry to say, it is so also because our Italian fighters had an absolute superiority over the fighters of Flik 41J. However, now, 80 years later, the Empire is missed, at least in the north-eastern regions of Italy, where some of them still celebrate kaiser Franz Josef's birthday. For further correspondence on the air war on the Italian front, please contact me.

Dear Leo,
I'm in the same crack fighter unit of Roberto Gentilli. If he will be in air, I'll watch his tail. We are proud and skill pilots of Italian Army Air Force, so check your six!
Never mind, it's a fun and the war is finished eighty years ago. Now it's the time to exchange data, pictures and opininons. If you want, please contact me too.
Best regards
Paolo

Not! you don't have two fighters on your tail! You got three!!
Happy to see somebody new interested in WWI-italian front.
However historical research took long time, devotion and above all open mind.
However if after your trip in Austria you want study the Austro-Hungarian airforce in WWI, it is better starting to learn German.....and quite good too.
The late Martin O' Connor wrote enough stupidity for the next two centuries!
Please don't be his heir!
However you will be glad to know that most of the Austro-Hungarian aces..are not ace at all!According to our researches in the italian archives there is no traces of their happy claims, despite "multiple confirmations". The only ecception is probably only Brumowski, but others..
Best whishes
Antonio

I disagree.

Your starting a old arguement here.

Some believe that just because the enemy didn't say it was shot down, then the kill wasn't real. Claiming victories this way is wrong. The reason for most of these mystery kills is because of the OOC claim type(out of control), example say a A-H pilot shot down 5 OOC's, well do you think he should be given ace title??? HE SHOULD!!!!! Because the A-H counted OOCs as kills & therfore he had 5 kills. Leo said that the Brits claimed 600 A-H ac while they only lost 300! It eventual comes down to people comparing WWI claims with WWII methods & it all gets screwed up.

Keith,

John G,Leo,Bob Z, & I are the A-H nuts around here. Glad to see you guys here. FMP should be puting a Italian book soon, you guys know anything about it?

Leo - Been swamped with an extremely ill mom - she is 80 - but still with it enough to cover your six. Italians beware - the rest of Flik41J is in the sun ready to pounce to protect our leader !
