Dear all,

A friend of mine asked me if I could use my "connections" to find something out for him. It's off topic unfortunately, but perhaps Peter L and/or Richard Schrader can help me out here; of course all other contributions are appreciated. Here it is: does anybody have any info on the interior of a Huey personnel carrying helicopter of the Vietnam era (I don't know the type designation from memory)? Things like the instrument panel, positions of the seats etc.? Pictures if available, can be send to my #2 e-mail address: Rudolfwindisch@hotmail.com

The scale of his model is 1/35 and it doesn't contain any interior parts so he has to make them himself. The piece is intended for a scenic display in which the helicopter drops off a squad of men.

Sorry for being off topic.

Kind regards,

Reinout

Sorry Reinout, all my modelling activities are strictly on topic these days. Ever since about six years ago a neighbours three year old got into my display case and wrecked a twenty year collection, from that day I decided to specialize.

Reinout;
The interior was gray as I remember. The pilots seat custions were red. The instrument panel was gray and black. The only pictures I have of the interior are in my pilot's operating manual.

Peter L,

You being the modelling guru of this Forum, I felt I could always ask. Thanks anyway.

Richard,

Is it in any way possible for you to scan in those pictures?

Kind regards,

Reinout

Reinout, I never like to shrug off any request for assistance with "not my department guv" so I've found a U.S. Army Web Site dedicated to rotary wing aircraft. It contains lots of UH1 material including just the kind of interior shots you are looking for. Rotorwash is a modelling site which concentrates exclusively on rotorcraft.

Still sticky after all these years
