Hi all

There is another "observer ace" not listed here. He was Cpl. Alfred Beebee of 18 Sq, RFC (Gunner to Sgt. G Stead in a FE) who was shot down by Manfred von Richthofen over Hill 90 (near Ichy) on 29 April 1917. He had 7 confirmed victories.
(Reference in "Bloody April" by Alan Morris, published in 1967, page 182)

Regards

Gert

As far as I know, Beebee made a claim on 23 April 1917. If you have the series of Communiques books, they are about 80 to 90 per cent correct for the period mid 1916, 1917 and upto May 1918 when they dropped OOC's. If they aren't in them 3 or 4 times, they won't make it to five. Anyway, as far as I found he only made the one claim.
