Does anyone know if Hitler's pal Rudolph Hoess served in the IGAF? If so, any details on his career?

Assuming you mean Rudolf Hess (no "O" is in his last name) then yes, he served briefly with Jasta 35b before the end of the war.

He first joined the German army in 1914, received the Iron Cross 2nd class in 1915, was wounded twice in battle then was accepted for pilot training and was assigned to Jasta 35b (Bavarian) on 16 October, 1918 and served there until the end. No victories are recorded for him.

Hoess was commandant of Auschwitz and I don't think he was a pilot.

Hoess (also spelled Höss) was commandant of Auschwitz, Hess was one of the Nazi leadership and a flier. Hess died in Spandau prison in 1987. I think Hoess was executed after the war (1947).

Only 11? My cat calls that a "warm-up".
