Reason for people to try to ruin the names of the men who fought & died in the skies! I won't mention names but you know who I'm talking about. As f now 'm going to give up posting on those stupid, childish,& dis-crediting threads. I call for a boycot!

Keith,

I wonder about some people

Anyone tempted to believe Keith is being a little paranoid here should check out two threads.

1/Fonck 74 or 75.

The pemise of the initial posting is that Fonck should be denied a victory claimed when piloting a two seater. (why?)

2/Who was the real top scorer?

In the third from last posting of 7 July on that thread the same person suggests that MvR's score should be greater as it does not include claims made when piloting a two seater.

The same person cannot hold both views without prejudice. The evidence suggests that at least one of those threads is calculated to provoke an argument. I suggest that ALL of Bud's threads are calculated to provoke an argument. Vis his latest shot at 56 squadron.

God knows no-one around here has ever before tried to provoke an argument, or been the least bit inconsistent. Cut this boycott bull@#$%. The guy has in fact posted a lot of interesting information. The statistics he provided as to how many victories each Allied ace would have if we relied solely on German records was fascinating and something I had never seen before.

A little revolution now and then is a good thing. As for me, give me boycott, or give me a sharp poke in the eyes. What we have here, is a failure to communicate----and a failure to communicate, results in time in the "Box".

Revolution?

Brother, the "captain" only says that AFTER he thumps "Cool Hand Luke" upside the head with a twenty-five ounce sap!

I pass, leatherneck!

You still don't get it do you. Okay check out 2 July "French Pilots the Best". Here Fonck (to be maligned four days later) is heralded as, not only the allied ace of aces but, the wars ace of aces with 127 victories.
I guess if you don't like his oppinions all you have to do is hang around for a couple of days.

You're right - I "don't get it". I think it's legitimate to suggest that a victory as a pilot in a 2-seater is something less than a victory when you're flying and shooting. I didn't say I agree with it, but it's certainly not absurd to suggest it. And there is nothing inconsistent about suggesting this and still regarding Fonck as the "ace of aces". Get it?
