Tim,
DFCs and WWII service medals weren't named, except privately, so unless he had another named medal (such as a long service medal) or there are some papers with it, it would be impossible to say that any particular DFC was his. I will keep my eye out on any of the lists I get. Do you have any idea of when it left the family?
