Greetings,

There is a listing for the Ehrenbecher of Max Immelmann listed on E-bay. The grouping also is supposed to include his flight helmet and letters to his mother.

The item number is #533991819..

any opinions?

To rich for my blood, but i was curious if other "Ace" memorabilia has fetched similar prices!

I'm inclined to believe it to be real. I've been collecting for some time and we're starting to see more and more of the 'true' artifacts of WW1 come on to the market (at a price of course!) as the collectors market grows and family members realize that that "junk" up min the attic from great grandpa's war days is worth something. In most cases the sellers have not had direct contact to the original owners of the stuff and therefore it means little, if anything. In addition to this, many museums in Europe have closed in the last 5 to 10 years and much of their inventories has wound up in the hands of auction houses and the collector/dealers. To this end I would direct you to www.derrittmiester.com as more evidence. This fellow visits Germany on a regular basis and owns/deals in some of the finest WW1 German aviation stuff availible(at a cost!). He's listing right now a Fokker D-VI rudder, which may well be the last one in existance! Now, where did I put that check book.....
