Hi all
I see the with the SE5a tread that Brown is the color that I will do my plane in.
But i was hoping that some one mite have a pic of Lt Rose plane. I know that he flew for the Englands 92 Squad. I all so know that the plane had 3 white stripes aft of the roundel.
I have seen pics of plane like this with the letter S on it, is this his plane?
Did his plane have a different letter? and if so where one the plane was this letter.
Thanks to all and may everone have a Great holiday season.

Rose flew SE5as C1142, C1888, C8896, C9064, D6173, D6888, D6959 and E5771. None of these, as far as I know, was coded "S".

Coded aircraft I know of are F943 - S; B104 - H; and D372 - 1.

So as far as you know none of the planes that he fly had anything but the Squad marking and the the planes #.
I beleive the the plane # was on the tail and the plane too. Do have any info on that.
Thanks again for the help.

I've seen pictures of only a couple of 92 Sqns SE5s so can't say that this applies to every machine the unit took on charge but F943 had the squadron marking of three vertical white bars aft of the roundel with the serial number between the last bar and the leading edge of the horizontal stabiliser. The serial was repeated on the rudder F above the three numbers. I'll have a root around and see what else I can find.

As for English spelling, punctuation and grammar etc, who cares? As long as the message gets across does it really matter whether every "T" is dotted and "I" crossed?

Merry Christmas

Graeme
