unknown medal

A friend of mine came acrossed a medal at a relatives house and we can not find out anything about it. It was he grandfathers, or so he was told, and would like to know more about it if possible. On the front is a portrait of a man with a medium length beard and short hair. Along the outer edge is writing that says"WILHELM II KOENIG VON WUERTTEMBERG". On the back is writing in the center that says"FUR TAPFERKEIT UND TREUE". It is on a ribbon that is medium yellow with two black stripes , one on each side with a small strip of yellow on the outside edge. It is silver in color. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sounds like a WWI Wurttemberg Bravery Medal.

The Wuerttemberg Silver Merit Medal was relatively common, being given out over 2.7 million times just to Wuerttembergers, alone. I seriously doubt such a list of recipients is available.

The silver bravery medal was awarded to the common soldiers. The gold bravery medal was reserved for non-commissioned officers.
