OK you guys, (and gals,) what American
airship set an endurance record for an attempted trans-Atlantic flight, in what
year and what was the name of the cat
who was on board and also the name of the
rescue ship and number of hours the airship was aloft. Okay, Ira, give it a
shot, and remember, no wisecracks from
the gallery!

Tsk, Tsk, Ed.

You really must read the book:

Mabley, Edward. THE MOTOR BALLOON "AMERICA." HOW SIX MEN AND A CAT FLEW (SOME OF)THE ATLANTIC IN 1910 FOR A RECORD PERFORMANCE BY A MANNED AND POWERED AIRCRAFT. Brattleboro (VT), Stephen Greene, 1969. 94 pp., illus.

(I'd fill in the details, but my copy is in storage while the house is being painted and re-carpeted)

VBR,

Ira (sans wisecracks!)
