The following found on a CHAPTERS website. It is a new book, published in Canada (the author's previous books have been about the F-104 in Canadian service and Second World War fighters). I have not seen the book yet, but heard Bashow speak on it at a conference last June. Apparently he supports Billy Bishop on the VC question, but also supports Australian army claims in the death of von Richthofen (though giving Roy Brown credit for having forced the Baron into the Australian's line of fire). Make of it what you will; something for everybody.

KNIGHTS OF THE AIR by: David L. Bashow, Stephen P. Quick CHAPTERS Price, normal: $50.00 - Sale Price: $35.00

Hugh,
I saw the book yesterday at a local bookstore - big,not quite coffee table size. I had my wife with me and as my birthday is coming up, I suggested that it was just the thing for her to get me!
So I have to wait until Dec.14 to actually look at it in detail. A quick glance in the store indicated that it is quite impressive. The aces list goes to 171 names, so I will be interested to compare it with this site's 187 names and my own 199 to check out differences.

Hi Hugh!

I was looking at the book today at a bookstore. Wonderfull art work and seams easy to read. Very nice gift. Claims McKeever to be "King of the two seaters" and although he received more accomodations Dad may be also be given consideration for his 9 victories in DH 4s as well as the Bristol. The author does include Dad and recognizes his 38 victories. I am sure I will include this book in my personal library eventually.
