Baur or Bauer?

I have seen Germany's last living WW1 ace's name spelled both ways. So which is the correct one?

I believe the correct spelling is Baur. As an aside, he served as Hitler's personal pilot throughout the entire Second World War.

According to the Harleyford book Air Aces of the 1914 -18 War, Unteroffizier

Johann Baur is listed with 6 victories. His name is spelled Baur. This book was published in 1959.
