I really think they are. If nothing else, it holds a wealth of WWI footage that's fascinating to watch. And although it contains some errors, the research is much better than your average WWI aviation documentary. It spans the entire war beginning to end and is very comprehensive. I enjoyed it very much and now that you've mentioned it I'll have to watch it again.

Hi,

Have to agree with Steven, worth it for the footage alone. I did however run screaming to the screen a few times...some of the research (I suspect the TV side wanted to "pretty it up" by trotting out some real old chestnuts), was pure Reynolds/Longstreet. I did think the British Aces were under represented and don't recall a separate mention for us poor bloody colonials, but overall fantastic. Watched it again about a month ago.

regards

Darryl

I would have to agree with the previous forumites. It is worth watching although I recommend going to your local library and see if they have a copy of the videos. If they don't they might be able to get it through interlibrary loan. I do this before I buy any book or video. This is how I saw "Four Years of Thunder" and it cost me only my tax dollars.

Good Luck,
Phil

Last year, on the Discovery Channel, here in N.Y.C a 1 hour program entitled " Flying Coffins" was aired. I found it to be quite informative and very well done. Bob
