Ginger:
James Norman Hall wrote several books on WW1 aviation, book the volumes he is most famous (in collaboration with Charles Nordhof) for were THE BOUNTY TRILOGY, of which MUTINY ON THE BOUNTY is best known.
Others of note:
Hall, James Norman. Flying with Chaucer. Boston, Houghton, 1930. 56 pp.
Hall, James Norman.
High Adventure: A Narrative of Air Fighting in France. London, Constable, 1918. 240 pp., frontis.
Hall, James Norman. Kitchener's Mob. The Adventures of an American in the British Army. New York, Grosset & Dunlap, 1916. 201 pp.
Hall, James Norman, and Charles Nordhoff. The Lafayette Flying Corps. Port Washington, Kennikat, 1964. (orig. Houghton-Mufflin, 1920) vol. 1: 513 pp., vol. 2: 360 pp., illus.
Hall, James Norman. My Island Home. Boston, Little, 1952. 374 pp., illus.
FLYING WITH CHAUCER is an absolute delight to read, THE LAFAYETTE FLYING CORPS is an all-time classic worth hundreds in either version.
Hope this helps. VBR,
