I know of one, my mother's cousin Antonin Gauthier. He flew with SPA80, and was killed in 1918 (exact date unknown). I believe he was from Les Aqueducs de Beaunant which was just outside the city, but is now part of it, or the next village whose name I have forgotten.

It was Oullins I was thinking of.

Antonin was killed behind German lines, and the photo I have is definitely a war cemetery, so he isn't buried in Lyon as far as I know.

Thanks, Rick. Do you, or any of the German experts out there, know who got him? I have several pictures (two of him with his SPAD, one of his grave, and one with his uncle - Engineers), but I haven't got my scanner working.

According to Bailey's upcoming French book (of which I have a pre-publication print out), Gauthier collided with Lt. Feschi of Esc. Spa 80 and was KIC. Feschi landed OK. Sorry, no more details available.
