J,
Scott only put what is written down from Above the Lines! Nothing more, nothing less!

It is more fact now it seems with Jasta war chronology and 'who shot down the aces?' book that Wisseman was the victim of 56 Sq.

Waldo,
Point taken, but threads still get controversial even when research at hand is done! see the above posts i made with what research i have, which most here have....

Foncks victory over Wisseman is more'romanticized', and i wouldnt doubt RF thought he HAD avenged Guynemer that day. but his CONFIRMED victories do not have anything that day on 28 Sept 17. perhaps one of his unconfirmed that day, but not Wisseman it seems.

I know RF was struck hard do to the loss of Guynemer....and it would be natural for him to go seeking the pilot who did it.

IMOHO
